The Portloe Community Benefit Society has Members, a Management Committee, and a Secretary.
Our Members -we currently have over 200 shareholders. Our shareholder offer closed in March 2025 once we had reached our target to purchase and begin refurbishment of The Ship Inn.
Membership is the means by which the Society is owned by the community.
Membership provides Members with access to information, a voice in the Society, and the opportunity to be elected to a representative role in its governance.
Membership of the Society is achieved by purchasing a minimum number of shares.
Members have a voice in the Society’s affairs, attending, speaking and submitting matters to be considered at Members’ Meetings; proposing resolutions and voting at Members’ Meetings and electing representatives to the Management Committee.
